Hosting for NCS
In a constantly evolving, multicultural Britain, many families feel there is a lot of benefit to be had in hosting students from overseas. Indeed, the hosting experience can be very rewarding, giving families the opportunity to earn a little extra income while learning about other cultures.
At NCS, we like to make the hosting experience as enjoyable as possible. We try to match students with families by interest where we can, and always conduct an informal interview with potential families to answer any queries they may have.
The students that come to us will either be on a Group stay (where students go out all day during the week, with typically 2 students per household), or a Family Stay, where students come on their own for immersion, which basically means that they spend the whole stay with their Host Family, 24/7, practicing their English.

Teaching for NCS
When teachers qualify to teach English as a Foreign Language, they are often asked to teach very large classes, and use similar materials from class to class. While some teachers like the straightforward nature of this style of teaching, others prefer one-to-one teaching, where they can tailor tuition to a student’s exact requirements, and see obvious development.
At NCS, with the exception of the occasional Group Stay, most of our classes are one-to-one. This means that every teaching assignment you receive will have a different brief, whether that brief be General English, Conversational English or preparation for English language exams, such as IELTS. Many of our teachers like the variety and flexibility of teaching, and some have been on our books for several years.
We require all teachers to have a TEFL/TESOL qualification from an accredited course provider, and at least 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, Grade C or above. At NCS, you also have the option of becoming a Host Teacher (put simply, you host the student you are teaching), or a Visiting Tutor (you travel to the host family’s home and teach the student there).
