Teacher Training
At New Century Study, we understand the importance of providing the very best quality English tuition possible. Indeed, so important to us is this need for quality, that we have always required our English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers to complete a course with an accredited course provider. However, for many potential EFL teachers, finding the course most appropriate for them is often difficult, largely due to the wide range of courses on offer.
In response to this need, we are now pleased to offer an accredited EFL Teacher Training course in Manchester with INTESOL International TESOL Training. INTESOL was established in 1993, and specialises in both flexible distance learning and onsite EFL training courses. The organisation is accredited by the College of Teachers, and in a recent statement, regarding recognition of accreditation bodies, the British Council in London wrote that they considered the College of Teachers to be a ‘reputable ELT validating body’, along with UCLES, Trinity College and any UK University. As well as being accredited by the College of Teachers, the course also has accreditation from the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODLQC), which is the national body for assessing the quality of open and distance learning in the UK.
The Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL Course lasts around 150 hours, combining distance learning for the Theory and Methodology of EFL with Observed Teaching Practice in Manchester, both teaching your own classes and observing other people’s lessons. Our trainer will be on hand to answer any questions you may have, and indeed, will be there to provide support and guidance throughout the Teaching Practice.
The approach combines flexibility with guided practice, giving you the advantage of being able to grasp the methodology at your own pace, while at the same time, knowing you will have the guidance and advice of an experienced teacher trainer every step of the way. As an added incentive to train with NCS, successful candidates can, if they choose to, work for us teaching our Easter and Summer individuals, which a number of new teachers feel is a good way to ease into EFL-teaching before moving on to classes.
